Bromelain

Extracted from the pineapple plant, bromelain has a host of useful properties.

It is most commonly used as an alternative treatment for arthritis and joint pain. It has shown promise for knee pain.

Scientists believe this is because of its effects on prostaglandins, thromboxanes, and interleukins--molecules involved in inflammation and biochemical pain pathways.

It has shown early evidence that it helps with inflammation and discomfort after surgery.

It can even help healing burn wounds and has shown some possible effect on cancer treatments.

There is a lot to be said for pineapples!

I wonder why the happiest state in the nation is Hawaii...

Probably the sunshine and friendly people--but the pineapple sure doesn't hurt!
